Pipe earthing electrodes

A galvanised iron or copper pipe with an inner conductor, filled with conductive compound, supplied in five configurations across 26 catalogue codes.

Full description

Each electrode is a galvanised iron or copper pipe with an inner conductor - a second pipe, a GI strip or a copper strip - filled with a conductive, moisture-retaining compound. The fill holds earth resistance low and stable, so fault currents dissipate smoothly and lightning surges are carried away. Hot-dip galvanising protects the GI variants against corrosion; the pure copper and copper-bonded variants hold up in highly corrosive soils. Pure copper electrodes are supplied with a 1.0 mm pipe wall.

Copper bonded ground rods

A high-strength steel rod uniformly coated with pure electrolytic copper, offered in two coating classes and three lengths across five catalogue codes.

Full description

The Copper Bonded Ground Rod is a high-strength steel rod uniformly coated with pure electrolytic copper, combining the conductivity and corrosion resistance of copper with the mechanical strength of a steel core. It dissipates fault currents and lightning surges at low resistance and withstands tough soil conditions with little maintenance. Two coating classes are catalogued, 40-50 µm and 250-270 µm, in 1, 2 and 3 m lengths.

Earthing plates

Flat earthing plates in pure copper or galvanised iron, from 300 × 300 mm to 600 × 600 mm, in seven model sizes.

Full description

Copper plates are made from high-conductivity pure copper and hold a stable earth resistance over time. GI plates are the galvanised iron equivalent, specified for medium- and low-voltage work where an economical plate is wanted. Both dissipate fault current, resist corrosion and need little maintenance. Model selection follows duty: 300 × 300 mm for compact and residential installations, 450 × 450 mm for standard residential and commercial work, and 600 × 600 mm for heavy-load and industrial service.

Earthing strips

Flat earthing tape in galvanised iron or pure copper, in three cross-sections from 25 × 3 mm to 50 × 6 mm.

Full description

Earthing strip provides a low-resistance path for fault and leakage currents. GI strip is the economical option and resists corrosion and environmental damage; copper strip is specified where conductivity matters most, including sensitive electronic installations. The same three cross-sections are catalogued in both materials: 25 × 3 mm for light duty, 25 × 6 mm for medium duty, and 50 × 6 mm for substations and industrial runs.

Construction

Built to stay buried.

Hot-dip galvanised

GI pipe and strip are hot-dip galvanised, so the coating covers cut ends and drilled holes as well as the body.

Compound-filled

Pipe electrodes are filled with a conductive, moisture-retaining compound that holds resistance down as the soil dries.

Electrolytic copper bond

Copper bonded rods carry a uniform electrolytic copper coating at 40–50 or 250–270 µm over a high-strength steel core.

Made in Jaipur

Pipe electrodes and copper bonded rods are manufactured by Ashima Electrotech under the ACME Safe Earthing brand.
